Yellow Ribbon Program Provides Vets With Financial Aid Assistance
Published on Saturday, September 18th, 2010 by James Category: College News
We have seen times where financial aid for college couldn’t be any more abundant, but we’re seeing it cut down more now than we have ever before. Does that really make sense?
The United States government has passed many college funding programs, but we continue to see financial aid become extinct right before our very eyes. This has many people looking for alternative options for paying for their college education.
For veterans, the help you need might be what’s being offered with the Yellow Ribbon Program.
What is the Yellow Ribbon Program?
The Yellow Ribbon Program was developed in order to provide United States vets with the opportunity to pursue a higher education. Each dollar that the vet pays, the government matches it with a buck. So if you spend $200, the government shells out $200 of their money.
This program has sent a lot of veterans to college in order to pursue their lifetime goals and it continues to do so each and every school year that it’s being offered to deserving students.
More Money Set Aside for This Opportunity
When it comes to money, there’s never enough to go around. The Yellow Ribbon Program has set aside the funds needed to send 100 veterans to college. Each veteran will have the opportunity to obtain up to $5,000 in college financial aid through the Yellow Ribbon Program.
It’s good to finally see some college financial aid assistance coming to the people who really need and who worked really hard to get the opportunity for a high quality college education. This program seems to be going pretty well and I can’t wait to see just how well it progresses over the next few school years.
It’s sure to truly make an impact on the lives of veterans who can finally get the education they want without having to become burdened by a bunch of student loans.
