There have been some recent changes to the application/ admissions to San Jose State University that is important for 2011 applicants to be aware of.

Changes for Fall 2011 Undergraduate Applicants

• All undergraduate majors are “impacted” at SJSU.
• For transfers, applicants will be ranked based on GPA for transferable coursework completed at the time of application.
• The local “guarantee” still applies to transfers who have earned the majority of their transferable units at a college in Santa Clara or Santa Cruz County.

Not Everyone May Get Into SJSU

Sadly, SJSU was forced to withdraw admissions offers from 160 admitted transfer students who, upon final review of their official transcripts, did not meet CSU minimum requirements.

It is important to note that students must understand that SJSU will rescind admission for students who do not complete the CSU requirements. Transfers can review their completed and planned coursework through their Transfer Centers and by going to this SJSU Transfer Page.

Students are able to make up or improve grades through the Spring 2011 term for Fall 2011 admission.  Summer 2011 coursework is not accepted as is the case with many other CSU’s and UC’s in California.
