How To Save Cash In College
Published on Sunday, April 3rd, 2011 by Matt Vint Category: College Tips
College is expensive: fact. No matter how much money you have saved for college, it’s going to cost you a good amount of money. It would be ideal that you start thinking about saving up your money before and during college – every little counts!
You need food and accommodation amongst other things, and you won’t be able to afford these things if you don’t prioritize and start cutting back on perhaps unnecessary commodities etc. However, if you really can’t cut back, you should start looking at other ways in which you can save money.
First of all, you should take advantage of your student discounts and such. Take advantage of the shops’ preferred customer awards that are usually very available in the shops and stores near colleges, and everywhere. You’d be surprised how much you could save just by being the age you are!
Save coupons! Coupons are everywhere nowadays let’s be honest, and in your financial state they can actually be of some use. Stack up your coupons every time you go for groceries, you can save some good money.
Don’t tip services in schools if tipping is not standard. In this capitalist world money is everything. Students are often gullible and go ahead and give their money away – well, chances are the person you’re tipping is better off than you are currently, so don’t bother. Save your money and use it to buy food, it might sound harsh, but you need it more than a sense of good will!
Keep your receipts. Have you ever wanted to make a return but lost the receipt for something? Well now you’re not going to be in that position, because you’re going to start saving though receipts in your 10,000 dollar shoe box!
Be punctual. Don’t return books and such late to avoid those annoying library fees etc. Be punctual in everything you do, it’ll make you a better person and of course a richer person!
Sell stuff! If you have anything, be it old games, clothes or books – sell it. You can make some good cash just by holding a yard sale or by listing old items up on online auction sites.
Another way you can save money is by using a credit card, as these services can sometimes offer nice discounts. Do tread with caution of course with this one, as you really don’t want to be racking up any debt whatsoever, as this would be completely counter-productive.
