It can be difficult at times to budget in a social life while living off student loans or part-time work. Just because you have a tight budget however, does not mean you have to stay home and miss out on some fun and memorable dating experiences. All it takes is a little creativity to come up with some unique and fun activities to enjoy with your date that will not only impress him/or her but will help you come across as someone who loves life and enjoys all life has to offer!

#1 Nature Calls

You don’t have to be a tree hugger to have an appreciation for the outdoors. If you are fortunate enough to have the beach or the mountains at your reach, take advantage of your beautiful surroundings! Fill a picnic basket with some homemade/gourmet snacks/refreshments and find a nice spot to get to know your date — Don’t forget the blanket!

#2 Dinner and a Movie

This may initially sound standard, however you haven’t read our twist on it yet — Rent a movie from you and your date’s generation — “Ferris Beueller’s Day off” is a good example. Have food and snacks available that match the theme of the movie. For instance, you may want to serve some 8o’s snacks such as pizza, burgers, fries and popular candy/drinks you may have eaten as a child of the 80’s.

If you are in the summer months, check around online for any outdoor movies being played for free. If you have a local drive in, they usually have special nights were you can watch two movies back to back for the price of one!

#3 Go out and get active!

If you and your date are athletic, why not find a park where the two of you can play a sport? There are many sports two people can play including tennis, volleyball, squash, frizbee – the list goes on!

#4 Check Out Free Events

Almost every major city has a slew of free events you can attend; all it takes is a little digging as many of these events are non-profit. Do a little searching online to find your city’s community page where you can find up and coming events/festivals. Christmas season and the summer months are the most popular time for such events.

As you can see, there are many activities you and your date can enjoy on a student budget that are fun and enjoyable… hope we helped you out!
