College Application Deadlines

Each college and university system has their own deadline of when college applications are due.  The 2 main public college systems in California are the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU).  A third system that doesn’t have one application deadline is the private school system.  Private schools range in due dates based on graduate school programs, majors, and the individual college campus.

University of California (UC) College Application Deadline

UC’s have a an application acceptance period between November 1st of each year to November 30th.  If you miss that application window, you will not be able to attend a UC the following fall semester or quarter.  Applications are submitted one year prior to attending.  This is a popular question college counselor’s get every semester.  The question comes up especially after the application deadline has passed.

California State University (CSU) College Application Deadline

The CSU’s have a similar deadline in that you apply in the fall for the following fall attendance.  Applications are accepted one year prior to enrollment.  Where they are different is that CSU applications are due before the UC’s.  The application deadline for the CSU’s begins October 1st.  Many don’t have a deadline of a last day, but the longer you wait to apply, the more students have been accepted and campuses will be full.  It is important to apply as close to the Oct. 1st date as possible to ensure that you have the best chance possible.

Private School Application Deadline

Again, application deadlines for all the private schools vary.  They are not the same as the UC’s and CSU’s.  You may even be able to apply the spring semester before attending depending on the school.  Check with the individual college to see what deadline they have for you to consider.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid Application (FAFSA) Application Period

Regardless of what school you go to, you should fill out the FAFSA as soon after January 1st as you can to ensure the most possible aid you can be awarded.  The longer you wait, the more student aid has already been awarded.

  1. Hi i think First year students for whom Lesley College is a first- choice or who are interested in learning about their admission decision early in the application cycle may apply under the Early Action plan.

  2. I had to list all colleges previously attended. Do I have to submit transcripts from those colleges as well? It didn’t say anything on the application..

Handicrafts- Yes, four year universities and colleges will want an official copy of your transcript of each college you attended. Even if you took only one class at a school and you did not do well.

Crafts- I haven’t heard of Lesley College before, where are they located?
