Arizona High School Students Compete Online for College Scholarships

Sierra Vista, Arizona – Lucky students will be able to take advantage of the opportunity to participate online for college scholarships. This is being made possible by CyberPatriot which is a national cyber security competition presented by Northrop Grumman.

What’s CyberPatriot all about?

CyberPatriot will be produced by the Air Force Association, which is located near Washington D.C. Students will participate in a range of cyber security exercises which are meant to introduce them to the cyber security field as a career option that’s currently available for those who want to truly pursue it.

What can students expect from CyberPatriot?

The CyberPatriot program provides students with the opportunity to find themselves in real-life computer security situations. Each student will battle it out trying to resolve all of the vulnerabilities that try desperately to take down their network.

This provides an education value as well as an entertainment value at the same time. With computers being used more now than they have ever been before, the opportunities for students just keeps crawling out of the woodwork. In fact, this has actually provided us with the opportunity to improve the quality of education all around the world.

What Arizona students will be participating?

The Buena High School team that’s taking part in this competition is made up of Army JROTC students. There are hundreds more other teams that will be participating, so the competition is definitely going to get fierce.

Overall, this is a great opportunity for students and everyone else that finds themselves involved with CyberPatriot. With Microsoft and many other reputable companies sponsoring this online competition, it’s no doubt that this is something that’s going to help the cyber security industry as a whole.

As more students become educated about the ins and out of online security, technology will be able to progress to even greater heights than what we see today. The outcome is unpredictable, but give it a few years and you will quickly witness it for yourself.
